Cometic Bonding

How Does Bonding Work?
Very simply, a resin filling material is applied to your teeth after properly preparing the tooth for bonding. It will fill in gaps, chips and cracks. Your teeth can look like they once did in just a short period of time.
During the bonding procedure, your teeth are prepared by lightly etching the surface and applying a bonding liquid. Once the bonding liquid sets, a resin filling is applied and sculpted into the appropriate shape by our dentists. Once the resin is set, it is trimmed, smoothed and polished to a natural appearance.
Benefits of Bonding
Just as with other cosmetic dental procedures, cosmetic bonding restores more than just the appearance of your teeth, it restores their function too. Bonding helps repair decayed teeth by using resin to fill in cavities left from dental decay.
Also, if your gums have been receding over the years, bonding can be used to help protect the part of the tooth’s root that has been exposed, reducing very painful sensitivity.
At Brandon Dental Care, bonding is a quick procedure that can be done in one office visit, often in about an hour. This is usually an inexpensive procedure, sometimes can be done without anesthetic. Little preparation is needed for dental bonding, so there’s no need to plan days in advance for this simple procedure. Bonding typically lasts many, many years before replacement is needed.
