Dental Sealants

Dental sealants are used to prevent tooth decay. The sealant is a thin, plastic coating painted on the chewing surfaces of teeth to fill any pits, fissure or grooves in your teeth.

They’re usually applied to your back teeth (premolars and molars). The sealant quickly bonds into the depressions and grooves of the teeth, forming a protective “shield” over the enamel of each tooth.

Protecting your original teeth is a key part of dental health, and dental sealants can help protect your smile.
